 Green trees are being felled in the name of timber fallen trees (dhalapada), locals say.Timber is being smuggled from most of the 63 CFs in Sunsari, including Prakashpur, Mahendranagar, Singiya, Kalijhoda, Dumraha, Chakraghati, Barahchetra, Bishnupaduka, Bharaul, Baklauri, Hasposa, Itahari, Dharan and Panchkanya, forest users said. According to the source, members of forest users’ committees are involved in most cases.
