Senior authorities of Nalsing Gad Hydropower Development Committee have precluded claims from securing inclusion in inconsistencies while granting contract to the expert chose to set up the nitty gritty report of the venture.

Moti Bahadur Kunwar, official executive of the advancement board of trustees, told the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee that due procedure was taken after while naming an expert to set up the nitty gritty venture report (DPR) of the 410MW stockpiling venture.

Kunwar was summoned by the House Committee on Sunday taking after protests that advancement board of trustees authorities had misused around Rs300 million while granting the agreement to SMEC MWH Uday Consult.

“We have gotten protests that the advancement board of trustees chose SMEC MWH Uday regardless of knowing it had cited Rs1.12 billion, which was higher than Rs840 million cited by AF Consultant of Switzerland,” said Dor Prasad Upadhyaya, director of the Public Accounts Committee.

Kunwar, in any case, denied the charge and said the assessment board of trustees chose the advisor in light of value and cost based choice (QCBS) framework as suggested by the Public Procurement Monitoring Office.
