People plough the field instead of oxes

The people of Gorkha has been ploughing field by themselves instead of using bulls to plough it.The strong son of the home work as bull while ploughing.According to local people, tradition of ploughing the field for growing corns has been running from ancient time. Singh Bahadur Gurung from Barpak-8 Gorkha is also follow in this tradition. His two son drag the plough and his wife sowed the seeds of corn.

The tradition of ploughing the field again after being ploughed by bull already has been amplified in 18 VDCs of Gorkha. The two son of Singh Bahadur Gurung has made a small plough. According to them they have made small ploughing machine known as halo than that is used by bull which make them easy to plough the field and grow corns.

Early in the morning the family of Singh Bahadur Gurung get in the field. His elder son Man Bahadur carry the plough and his young Suk Bahadur one carry ropes required during ploughing. According to Man Bahadur who is studying in grade 11 of age 16 after the continuous ploughing of field for two days the field become ready for sowing the seed of corns.

The youth of Barapaka, Lapraka, Gumda, with Lapu VDC have been ploughing the field instead of oxes. People has abandon the oxes raring due to which youth of the villages have to plough the field.saying that landscape are such that no tractor can be use the youth have to do this hardship.The field cannot be kept uncultivated which may cause shortage of food so people ask their sons to plough the fields.Though who do not have youth in their home plough the field along with their affordable equipment.

In only Barpak there are 300 houses.The local people has been ploughing the field as their ancient ones.But farmer are complaining that their is no enough youth available in village due to foreign employment policies to plough the fields and yield corns.The villagers have been using youth who are studying in school.
